Loup Power District, (402) 923-1222, a wholesale power customer of Nebraska Public Power District provides electric and wholesale service to Humphrey. Cornhusker Public Power District, (402) 564-2821, serves the rural area. These offices are headquartered in Columbus.

Black Hills Energy, 888-890-5554, is the retail supplier of natural gas in Humphrey. KN Energy is the pipeline company. Black Hills Energy is a full-service natural gas distribution company.

The municipal water system in Humphrey is supplied by a well located south of town. The average daily demand is 135,000 gallons. Humphrey has a municipal sanitary sewerage system and a storm sewer system. The lagoon type treatment plant was built in 1981 and was designed to handle a population of 1,200.

The city of Humphrey contracts with a privately owned firm for waste removal services in the community. The citizens have garbage removal once a week; businesses and schools twice a week.

Qwest, (800) 244-1111, provides telecommunications services to the Humphrey area with a digital central office served by fiber. Qwest also provides internet through DSL hookup. Local Internet access, provided by Community Internet Services of Columbus, NE, is available to citizens of Humphrey and the surrounding area. A local call to the system (923-0119) makes a reasonably-priced connection with the world.
